Blend Door Actuator

Normally I would have taken a weekend to do the repair, I just didn't have the time and needed the AC to cool me down and not the front windshield...LOL.

...So ghs215 I need to get your number on speed dial for next time. :)

Waking up an old thread...

I pulled the upper actuator today, and performed the worm gear “fix”. I plugged back in the actuator to make sure it functions before fighting to reinstall, and I’m now getting all the lights hyper flashing. Dash lights, HVAC display and radio backlights, even the rear wiper is going... vehicle doesn’t start. Same result with the “fixed” actuator plugged in and not.

Anyone run into this? Checked all the other connections in the area in case I unplugged something, but all looks good. Maybe there’s a ground in there somewhere I tweaked?

Appreciate any ideas...

Update...

Put a battery charger on it, and all seems fine now.

Well, except the actuator “fix” hasn’t fixed anything except the clicking. Still always getting air through the dash vents no matter which setting is selected, and now no longer getting anything through the defrost vents when selected... so my “fix” seems to have broken that function.

You will have to take out almost the whole dash. It might surprise you what a repair bill will be for that much labor. good luck.

I did just get a quote before finding this thread, and yes... It is extremely surprising that this fix is just a little less than my damn transfer case seal. LOL! I guess it's going to be one of those, "don't want to spend the money but have to" type fixes...

como solucionaste el problema? ya que tengo una 4runner 2007 sr5 v6 y justo hoy empezo a funcionar con aire frio por el lado del copiloto y aire normal por el lado del conductor

Translation..."How did you solve the problem? Since I have a 2007 4runner SR5 V6 and just today it started to work with cold air on the passenger side and normal air on the driver's side"

English would help get more replies....but, having cold air on one side and warm air on the other usually means it's low on freon, I think you need to have the system checked for being low on freon, which if so means it also could have a leak, if so hopefully isn't the evaporator, it's very expensive to replace.
