Blew a spark plug out of the block!

The second shop I called said they believed if the shop its at now couldnt do it they didnt think they would, so wouldnt even try.

Im hesitant to try to fix it myself, I can wrench but just not good with drilling and retapping, usually end up off center.
Has anyone tried using the triple oversize inserts for fords? I havent gotten exact measurement but the hole is bigger than a 5/8" tap. I dont want to give up on fixing it yet but the body is rusting badly so its not worth fixing if the head needs to be pulled.

If the second shop never looked at it then how are they going to diagnose it over the phone?

Highly doubt that will work since ford spark plugs are drastically different than what we use. ford 5.4 spark plug - Google Search

Motorcycle shops should be able to do it also. My friends shop does them on occasion. I’m betting a few a year. He keeps a kit for doing it.

They just said they trust the first shop and if the first couldnt do it then they couldnt..

Spark plug blew out for me at 233K miles. My mechanic said it tore up the threads so much there isn’t enough left to re-thread. In addition, they weren’t able to recover all the parts of the spark plug. Recommendation was to replace the cylinder head. I ordered a remanufactured head that won’t arrive for another couple weeks.
