Well yesterday at lunch, while listening to talk radio on an AM station, at a rather low volume I blew my front driver side speaker... I had to turn the bass down to them minimum to be able to have the rattle bearable. OHHHHHHHHHH WOE IS MEEEEEEEEE.

Anyway, anyone have any components they want to sell? Apparently my stocks were done =(

I actually have a complete extra set of the Pioneer ones I used brand new and still in the box. I was planning on sending them back but I'd be happy to sell & ship them to you.

Front Speakers - Pioneer TS-A1684R A-Series 6 1/2" 4-Way 350 Watts
Rear Speakers - Pioneer TS-A1374R A-Series 5 1/4" 3-Way 300 Watts

I could be starting a major battle.

However, I have read good things about these, for relatively cheap. I am going to put a set of these in my civic, as they are cheap and have good reviews, for what you pay for.

Amazon.com: Hifonics Zeus ZXI6.5C 6.5-Inch 2-Way Component Speaker System (Pair): Car Electronics

And I got these for Xmas. Double the price.

Just a thought, as by the time you get the components there and paid for, you might be paying the same as something lower-middle of the road new.

"I was told that I could listen to the radio at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven, I told Bill that if Sandra is going to listen to her headphones while she's filing then I should be able to listen to the radio while I'm collating so I don't see why I should have to turn down the radio because I enjoy listening at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven."

I'm surprised I haven't blown mine yet listening to Adele.

:offtopic: I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire... I could set the building on fire.

sorry for the thread hijacking -ill go back to dirka dirka land now

if you get component system them get an amp to run them as well... also for what its worth i think the speakers in the rear doors are a good a idea to upgrade too, it really gives a nicer more fuller and balanced sound inside the truck

Such a cheap and easy upgrade, speakers are. You can replace the fronts with two or threeways and bypass the crossover to the tweeter also. I imagine getting a tweeter to work in that stock location could be fairly difficult.

if you dont have the money to replace them yet, you can repair it. I blew one of the speakers half way in my grandparents van and fixed it with duct tape. Just took the door panel off, removed the speaker, and used duct tape to re attach the cone to the speaker where it had come off. Worked perfectly and it has held up 4 years so far.

The cost isn't really an issue, I am just curious is anyone had any laying around...

I have my eye on a set of JL's for $150 new... I would rather support the community than some website in Thailand though.

I've got a set of components from my donor if these look appealing to you.

I haven't looked up their specs, but if you're interested, I can get all of the info for you.
