Blower motor resistor problem

I’ve been having a pretty odd problem with my blower motor (2000 limited 4runner). It seemed like my blower motor would only stay on max speed (even though it would show slow speed on the control unit) so I replaced my blower motor resistor as that was the recommended fix. Now my blower speed goes up/down with big bumps and also seems to react a bit to when I press on the gas. This only happened after I did a bit of work on my ac system. Only thing I can think is I have a short or a bad ground somewhere. Seeing if anyone has any ideas.

Inspect everything you touched be my first move.

I’ve looked over everything pretty thoroughly, but I didn’t take the evaporator core back out so what ever is behind there is kind of the only thing I can’t really inspect. But yea maybe I just need to look over everything again a few times and see if I see anything.
