Blue HID Lights

Hey everybody, I have a 1999 Toyota 4runner. I really want some blue HID lights for my truck but don't know what size, type, or place to buy them from. I've been looking online, but it's a little confusing. I want a nice bright blue color for around $80.00 if possible. Maybe 8000K or 10000K? I would buy them for the low beam head lights, right? If you have a website or place to purchase from, it would be very helpful.

Just drive with your head lights off because that's about how much light output 10,000K HID's will have in your stock halogen head lamps.

6k's would be slightly blue, 8k would be very blue, and anything over that would displace too much light it'd be too hard to see.

I have 4500k's in my truck, with them aimed down quite a bit, so that all the posters above who have their panties in a bunch can stop being vagina's.
 
Funny story.

I had a CBR954RR (sport bike) once apon a time. I had retrofited the BMW Hid bulb and ballest into my high beam side of the light. This was before all these readily available kits became available. Cool install.

I was cruising down the Hwy at a spirited ride and a soccer mom in a mini van full of kids comes barreling out onto the high way I was driving on. Did not stop for the stop sign or anything.

I had to slow down in a hurry and pulled right behind her. I was mad. If I was going faster, I probably would have got hurt.

Anywho, I turned my HID High beams on and I could see every little detail in the van. It was so bright, I could she what she was thinking.

Here little kids popped up in the rear window (no seat belts or anything) looking at me covering their eyes. It was as if they were looking into the sun.

Never the less, i followed her for about 4 miles. She had changed every mirror adjustment and finally she just pulled over. As I drove by,I yelled at her "So you do know how to stop", then I went on.
 
i would buy from DDM tuning. you need an H4 kit with hi/low. i would not go above a 5500k bulb as the more blue you go/get the less light you can actually see on the road(it gets even worse with its raining or foggy out). also just so you know HID kits are illegal in non-projector housings like yours. personally when i see some asshat running around with HIDs in non-projector housing i give them my high beams and some of the other lights i have... they throw light everywhere and the glare is blinding

for the love of Jedi's and the other great things in this world. Don't do this. people on the road will hate you. On top of that, blue head lights look pretty gay on our rigs. I mean back in my day when i was first driving, we had colored bulbs. Mine were green and I couldn't see a damn thing, but hey... I thought i was cool... and no i wasn't :(

I too hi-beam the crap out of those asshats! its funny watching them flash their wannabe hi-beams back. In truth, if enough people flash them, and they have half of a heart or brain, they will take them out, or do a proper retrofit. That's what happen to me anyway :)

but seriously, when there are pictures like this on google images, it's obvious people don't like it.

i didn't notice it was his first post here. So if he ever comes back, sorry for being so blunt. Once you get in to this forum, you'll see were a bunch a good people offering any kind of help we can. but yeah, from personal experience don't buy blue lights lol!
 
Well thank you for being kind about it (in the later posts lol) and I value all of my fellow 4runner owner's opinions. My dad bought this back in '98 and it's the '99 model. He's had it ever since and I fell in love with it when he first got it (I was 3). Now I'm 17 and he just gave me the truck last week because he just bought a c250. He put 187,000 freeway miles on it and only got into a small accident that wasn't his fault. Somebody hit him in the back and the bumper just droops a little bit on the back left side. First thing I did was Plasti-Dip spray paint the rims and my grille. I was thinking about the blue HID headlights but wanted to get your guys' feedback on it first. I also want to black out the back tail lights. I was thinking about lifting it too and getting new tires but that's not now, maybe in the future (2 years or so).

Thanks though, I'm not gonna do it.
