Blue smoke on start up

Ok my 2002 doesn’t get driven a lot . I have a daily driver. Yesterday after it’s been sitting for a few week I noticed blue smoke on startup after i revved motor a little. It cleared after a few mins of driving and didn’t do it again until i started motor today. I sea foamed the motor about two months ago for a pinging issue. It also had a recent oil change but subsequently looks to be slightly burning some oil since. The motor is a JDM I put in about 3 years ago. Reported to be under 70000 miles at the time. My mechanic said the heads were real clean. So I’m guessing it’s valve seals . Is there anything temporary I can do . Not really wanting to tear top of motor down for my non daily. Also would the pinging be a result of valve seal leak? It does go away with higher octane fuel. Thanks.

I have had luck in other cars using Valvoline Maxlife High Mileage Oil to help condition old valve seals.

Change the PCV valve and check the throttle body for oil in it.

Ok will do. You have had good luck with it? What about Bart’s stop leak for valve seals? I’ve read positive reviews.

Never used it. Try the high mileage oil first and give it some time. But do change the PCV.

I had a friend who had worn valve stem seals and some oil consumption, dumped some Marvel Mystery Oil in the crankcase, and little to no more blue smoke and his oil consumption was cut in half by 50%. Never have used MMO except in lawnmowers myself.

Ok. Thanks. Pcv was changed in November so I’m good there. I’m gonna do an oil change with the high mileage oil.
