I will send sound clip when this coming weekend. However, listening to the clip of the Magna Flow, sound just like my TRD Cat-Back on my 05 V6. It is a lot louder then the Borla.

Do you have any data? Documentation, response times of before and after or dyno runs? 5% efficiency gains overall is a huge number.

I picked up a Borla cat back this morning from someone off craigslist for a pretty good deal and had a shop install it for $40.
I haven't had a chance to really test it but when I do, I'll make sure to report back but so far, I am enjoying the quicker response of the throttle.

Good to know that there are no droning issues with the Borla on the 4R. I had a Magnaflow cat back system on my '11 Tacoma V6 and when I gave it to my Dad he asked me to remove it because it was too loud for him. I have a Borla cat back kit on my '86 Corvette and it drones like a son of a *****. If I drive that car for too long I get headaches. The kit was on the car when I bought it and since I don't drive it often, it will stay on there. I've heard that Borla is one of the few exhaust companies that don't fudge or over exaggerate their HP and torque numbers.

So 1Engineer, data is solid after 600 miles, realizing 1MPG increase on road. This in in varied weather up here, some mornings in lower teens to upper 50's. As a rule, I drive my vehicles and don't beat on them, but will tell you the throttle is more responsive and it pulls hills better at +65MPH with less downshifting from OD. As for cost return, didn't really worry on cost as intrinsic value is working on my car and satisfaction from the work.

Here is the old one out.
This right here was the longest part. Spot welded on the nut and we didn't have a legit lift, just a jack so we didn't have enough room to work the whole length of piping out. Hence hack sawing it and turning it into a few pieces like the first picture.

Excluding time spent sawing, I would say pullling the old one out and putting the new one in maybe an hour, hour and half tops.

It was a giant pain in the ass. There was no good angle to cut it from and then the first blade went dull so we had to go to Home Depot to get more blades. Tooks about 4 hours total.

No. My friend doesn't have one at his house here in CA. So we just used a hack saw and arm power.

I know this is after the fact but, most auto stores rent this out for free:
It's an exhaust pipe cutter, basically a long chain of cutting wheels, much easier than a hacksaw since it's a whole bunch of wheels cutting around the entire circumference at the same time
Though it if that much of a pain to remove myself, I'd probably just drive to the local muffler shop and give em 5 bucks to chop it off for me, lol. That's insane that they would weld the nuts on from the factory, geez!

That probably would have been 100 times easier than a hack saw. I mean it's not like it was a huge pain just a really big inconvenience. And I'd suggest having two people if you do it yourself so the old system doesn't smack you in the face once you take the little rubber brackets off and pull it down.
OP, do you have the part number? I bought one through my dealer when I bought the truck, it arrived and they said it rubbed on the bumper. They said they called Borla who told them they didn't know it didn't fit the 2014 and that they don't have anything for the 2014 then.
I assume you didn't experience any trouble with it fitting.

love my borla cat-back on my 2011. I was getting about 22ish with my setup (last thing i installed was the cat-back) now im getting about 1-2mpg less...i think its bc i floor it in sport mode just to hear the growl...sounds pretty damn good for a V6
