Both drive shafts leaking, remedy?

it is a 04 V6 4WD. Went under the truck to drain & refill differential fluid, found both front and rear drive shafts are leaking grease. Only got one picture, but you can see thick grease on the rear shaft and grease being sprung onto the under body. The last time drive shafts were lubed was at 60K service in 2009. Now it has 78K miles.

The truck drives okay to me, no hesitation or clunk noise when accelerating from a stop. No problem shifting from 2H to 4H or 4Low. There is a humming noise when using 4 Low. I don't know if the noise is normal.

What would be the remedy to this problem? Replacing both drive shafts sounds
like a big project and very expensive.

Is it still okay to drive the truck in the meantime?

That's normal, they may have really shoved a lot of grease in there. Wouldn't worry.

Thanks, big relief. Took a couple pic of the front drive shaft, similar condition. I need to get a grease gun and pump grease into them.

Wondering if people design a sealed drive shaft. Isn't it neat and maintenance free?
