yes, they are Iridium but do not seem to be as popular as the other NGK model number or the Denso's

living dangerously ?

I'm not a spark plug expert but as long as your running NGK's I'd say you'll be fine

The reason they're not as popular is because they are a lot more expensive.

Iridium plugs are fine...they just last a lot longer then the regular plugs. They'll perform EXACTLY the same.

Guys ALL three types are Iridium, including the flavor I bought !
Only diff's are the size of the center conductor .3 .4 or .7

Maybe you should have spelled that out in your original post.

NGK makes other NON-Iridium plugs for you vehicle too.

Do you really think any v8 4R owner would use non-Iridium's
given the Toyota parts specs and original equipment iridium plugs ?
And no, NGK's chart does not show non-Iridiums for these applications

Lots of things fit, even the wrong grade of oil will fit your crankcase.

Iridium plugs do last longer...but that's it. If you think there's performance gains or increase gas mileage...I've got this bridge in Brooklyn that's for sale.

Now a little basic automotive knowledge does come into play...See if you can follow....

The ONLY reason Toyota (or any other manufacturer) specs out Iridium plugs is because they last longer. It's called marketing. In many cases you won't need to replace them for over 100k miles....THIS IS THEE ONLY REASON. Using a NON Iridium plug only means you have to change them more often...and for MOST people who have automotive knowledge think this is the BEST method. I can show you many mechanics who have had to a lot more helicoils because the Iridium plugs have been in the heads so long (especially aluminum heads) and then when they pulled the plugs the plug hole is stripped. Also pulling plugs out once every other year is a good way to inspect how the engine is. You can tell a lot from a used spark-plug. If a problem is starting...you can take care of it while it's a minor problem..before it turns into a big problem.
