brake leak question

hi guys i have a 1991 toyota forerunner and it has a brake fluid leak
on the passenger rear and its not coming from the wheel cyclinder area it looks like a line up top by the fuel tank does anyone now if there is a common brake leak problem on these any help would be great thank you

It's probably coming from the proportioning valve back there. It sits just above the pumpkin on the diff, on the passenger side. You might have a corroded hard line, or leak in one of the hoses. Just crawl under there with due caution and a strong light.
I need to replace that valve on our 4runner(1990). Because there is a rubber boot around the valve, it can hide leaks quite well. It is easy enough to pull the boot away to take a look. It will be quite obvious if it is the culprit. The valve the last time I looked was around $170 in the US.

A picture of where it leaking would be a great help.

If it is the LSPV, a cheaper and better replacement is getting a manual valve from summit racing (around $30) and getting rid of it all together.

Google LSVP removal, tons of stuff comes up!

Ill be doing this to my 92 shortly, as I have removed my LSVP.

OP, since the purpose of the LSPV is to provide more braking power to the rear axle when the bed is loaded, you may want to mount the manual valve in a readily accessible location if you decide to go with that.
