Brake Pedal Click

I get the same noise. It sounds like you take a metal bucket, lift its handle up and then just drop the handle so it hits the bucket.
Happens all the time when the car has been parked for some time, I back up (say from the parking lot) and push the brake. Or if the car has been stationary on the slope and I go in "D" and accelerate.

Just trying to revive the topic to see if the culprit was found..

Mine doesn't click but more of a psssss sound, like an air leaking type sound but not at all.

Sound is like people are experiencing Master Cylinder problems which is a 5k+ plus fix. The master cylinder/brake booster assembly's are knows to have problems with these 4th Gens and the parts are extremely expensive/no aftermarket or easy fixes available.

It does not do it all the time and other than that it's functioning normal and brake fluid always changed at normal intervals. It's just a slight click or little bump when releasing the pedal almost to the end. There is always a little play in the brake pedal so you're not one of those annoying drivers that ride with the brakes on. I bought a new brake light switch that the pedal rests on since the pin may be going bad and not releasing at the same time all the way when the pedal does causing the slight bump in the pedal. This afternoon it was fine, no issues and for only $25.00 it's a quick fix. Here is a helpful youtube video.
