Brake shim question

I changed one side of my front rotors and brake pads today. It's the first thing I've done for the 4runner in quite a while and everything went smoothly until I took a gander at my old parts and realized I forgot the OEM shims.

I bought some Oreilly BrakeBest ceramic brake pads over a year ago and that's what I installed today. They came with a shim already on the back so I was wondering if I'm good running them the way they are now or should I go back in and add the OEM shim?

Keep as is

if they don't make noise. When i swapped my rotors/pads, what was on there didn't have a shim, new ones didn't either. They work and sound perfect. :rockon:

you shouldnt have any problems im on my second set of those pads and have been very happy with them. no noises until i hit the squealers. not very much dust either.

I have NAPA Gold Ceramics on mine and I removed the original shims, no noise, stop great. Dad has same pads w/o shims on his Tundra with same results.
