Hi all,

New member here. Just picked up my 2006 4Runner SE 2WD V6 from none other than Dianne down at Carson. Had to special order it to get the Nav with Bluetooth, etc. Couldn't be happier. It's an awesome vehicle. It's all stock at this point... will probably stay that way for a while. Here are a few pics. Sorry, no adventure or scenic shots... yet!

Great way to make an entry. Everyone likes to see pics! WElcome aboard. Hope youre ready for the bug.

Congrats on the new truck! It looks great. That is the first sport I have seen come shipped with nav. I am sure it was well worth the wait for the nav!

Thanks all.

It was quite an adventure in itself just trying to get this vehicle. I'm one of those people who want it the way I want it. About 6 dealerships told me I couldn't get the vehicle the way I was describing it and even if I could it would likely take 6+ months (they just wanted to sell something off the lot). I got in touch with Carson Toyota, talked to Dianne... had my truck in less than 3 months.

This was my special order list:
- GPS Navigation w/Bluetooth
- Auto dimming mirror with compass
- 115v AC outlet
- Tow hitch with ball mount
- Upgraded alarm
- Floor mats with cargo mat

Nothing all that special, right? A lot of these items are in your standard, on-the-lot vehicles here in southern California. It's the darn GPS that made things so difficult. Even if I went with the Limited, there was only one on the west coast (US) that already had the GPS in it! Craziness.

Anyway, again, I'm a happy camper. Well worth the wait. I hope to have more photos of it in all sorts of strange lands before too long.

Thanks again,
dpiddy

very nice, how much did you end up paying at Carson? We recently picked one up from there as well, SE V6, however I'm wondering how much of a difference in price was the Nav. system and the Auto-diming mirror with compass.

If you must know... :)

Before tax, title, license and after $1,000 Toyota rebate, it was $30,650. I believe the invoice price for the nav is around $2,100 and for the mirror it's around $120.

Nice looking truck.
That's funny, but I'm starting to get used with people who has gadgets like Nav and no leather. Here in Canada you can have Nav as an upgrade to the Limited trim which means leather.

Is the center dash trim on ALL the '06's the same color as his? Or is it just because he has navigation? Mine is silver like the door accents...

Only the '06+ Sports are the darker color.

On mine, the darker gray areas (center vents piece) are silver like the door trim piece; the door trim piece is fake wood and the handle piece is silver. The black center part where the HVAC controls are and the storage bin are the fake wood.

dpiddy,
Looking good. IMO, nav's worth the wait. I waited too.

Wow. I should have gotten a SE w/Nav if the price is like that! geez.

$2,100 for the Nav, almost the same price as in the GX when I was buying my GX. Well i ended up with a GX w/o Nav because of two reasons : 1. I wanted to get a GX ASAP (had to trade in my RX300 before the RX330 came out to get the best price for it) and 2. I don't like the old technology of a magazine cd changer.

Btw, quick question, those who have Nav, is the CD changer in the glove box, as a magazine also? Jst curious...

Nope, it's a 4-disc changer behind the fold down screen. There are two slots, one for CD and the other is the DVD-ROM for nav.
