I paid 555.00 for the two skids. They were 233.00 each plus shipping and taxes. They charged me 39.00 dollars flat rate shipping.

Ahh. Damn, I probably would have gone with them if I had known that. Oh well, I'm excited to compare them!

You'll like the BudBuilts! Good idea asking him to make the drain hole bigger. Since I have the inconceivably tiny drain hole on mine, I got a quick drain valve. Just installed it last weekend. I'm planning to stick a short length of tubing on the nipple of the drain valve, one that's just a smudge longer than then distance from the valve to the hole in the skid. The tube will stay tucked up out of the way, and then when I need to change the oil, I'll just flip it down through the hole....reach in the side of the skid...and turn the drain lever. Wha-la, no mess!

.....but what about the filter......?

I always go through the fender. Never really had a problem turning it up quickly. Usually I don't spill more than a few drops.

Sweet!. You will love them. And happy birthday!

Thanks!!

home made drip pan that I squeeze directly under the filter, and it funnels it all down to the side into a bucket. Several layers of tin foil works wonders for stuff like that.

Do you guys have a lot of oil running out of the filter hole or something? Mine usually just has a small trail of oil running straight down. I just put the new filter on and give it a quick swipe with a rag.

Brian Happy Early B-day on the Buds. Also I like the new avatar and have seen stuff like that first hand. Since I used transport that kind of stuff I usually got the call to come "pick up" the equipment since the crew is "done" with it. I am still hoping to make the trip and have my front bumper by then but not looking good getting off of Reserves that day.

Maybe it's because I use a bigger filter...but most of my oil comes out of the filter itself, and it starts coming out as soon as the seal is broken. Which at that point, the filter still has to be spun around several times to actually get it off.

I just talked to Bud and he said they were out of the belly pans till early next week. The front skid's on its way, but we're not sure if the belly pan will make it to me by sat. (hopefully he can get it and send it out on mon.). No big deal if he can't, but it would be nice to have both for the run. I also talked to him about a gas skid and a diff cover which should be available very soon!
