Brian2sun Build Thread

I talked to a guy at lil skip I forgot his name, and they told me that I had to get a group buy of five so they can start making them. This is what I received from them...."I just sold the last skid that I had in stock and am currently out of stock of my tank skids. I have a shop that laser cuts and bends the skids but I must buy 12 at a time and need 5 more sales before I can get a group cut. Building skids and accessories is not my main business and at this time can not afford to have surplus stock on the shelf. Hopefully I will have enough sales soon to have my shop cut a batch".

Lil skips has a gas skid available...
Lil' Skip's Offroad I shipped one to Atlanta from Denver for about 20$

if you get one from him, Ill pick it up for you and ship it, save you some money...

Awesome! I'd really appreciate you doing that! You must get a good deal through your work?? Do you know what option the guy in Atlanta chose when he ordered it - CO pick-up w/ tax? I'm guessing he'll need to charge tax, but that would still be way better than $75 shipping. I'm sure CA will be more than Atlanta, but any savings is good!!

I would probably pull the trigger on a lilskips tank skid with you proudrunner

So there's 3 of the 5 that he needs. Me, proudrunner, and Driffter33. Maybe we can do a group ship deal, but the price ssems to go up exponetially the more weight. It seems it's usually cheaper to ship 20 things that weigh 10 lbs. than 1 thing that weighs 200. Can't hurt to ask tho.

Now all we need is jmoney, pure98, pikeman. and we could have one heck of a tank skid mounting party:thumb3:

no kidding lol, maybe we can pm him and see what kind of deal we can get once we have five people. Hopefully we can save on shipping and taxes.

What are his prices? If the price is right, I might be in for one. I would have to have separate shipping since I live in boston.

And this is just the gas tank skid?

So I hate to be that guy, but where are those front skid pics?

Haha, all right, all right. :) The front skid came on wed. but I didn't have a chance to do anything with it until today. But then as I was prepping the front skid for paint toady, the belly pan came early!!! So I ended up painting both of them which took a while to dry with all the moisture in the air. It started raining a little too so I had to move them under the deck to finish them. By the time I got all the coats on, it was getting dark so they're going on tomorrow morning.

I had to wait for my neighbor to get home so I could borrow a 22mm socket to bolt the bracket onto my steering rack also and that took up a couple hours. I got the bracket on now though so it should be easy tomorrow. They are beefy! I took one shot as I was painting. You can see the oil drain access hole I had him make bigger for me too (I think it's the perfect size at 3")...

let me know if you need one more buyer for the group. I should be able to afford it

Well that makes 4 of us then, maybe that's enough if Gerdo has a one or 2 other people waiting.

Got 'em mounted up today!! Had to say "screw it" on one of the bolts right next to the cat. My arm just wasn't small enough to get in there to tighten the nut on top. Simigeology from TTORA thinks he can get it on there for me when we go wheelin tomorrow, but either way I think I'll be ok with 13 out of 14 bolts.
