ohh yeah those before and after pics really show the great improvement. It sure want too hard to do either.

That spray paint matches the powder coating close than i though it was going to

The paint matches almost perfectly! I nudged up on a few pretty tall boulders today and I didn't hit so even though it's only an inch or 2, it makes a difference.

PERFECT. Thank you Brian.

I've seen this done on an FJ80 and a Taco, and that's what got me thinking on doing it to mine. Perfect illustration of the difference on your part.

Good work man! (And to J-Money too)

Thanks!

That's the way it should have came from ARB!

For sure! I don't know why they didn't just make it like that.

Looks great man! Totally pro all the way! In fact, wasn't even sure what you had done, til I read the previous posts!

Thanks man! I surprised myself a little at how straight my cuts were with the angle grinder. Hacking it was a piece of cake really. Jason welded that thing in minutes so that was easy too.

Just recognizing the efforts man. You've become quite skilled at welding/fabricating and I know we've had our differences here on the forum, but I can't help but recognize skill.

Wish I had a dude like you living around here. I wouldn't be surprised to see you end up becoming a pro somewhere down the road and selling product.

Ahh I don't have time to have issues with people, no hard feelings here I'm never arguing with people again on a forum. I have made quite a few things now, and I'm sure if you lived here we would probably have met and have a project going. I keep my hobbies, my hobbies, I enjoy welding and fabricating, however it is not as glorious as some may think. Right now I'm dealing with a little 3rddegree burn on my arm from welding some stuff under my truck and a puddle burnt through my shirt. I appreciate the comments thought. Not too bad for a 20 yr old ;). College is my main focus. I love learning. Enough of my own story

I need to get Brian welding now. He's pretty good with a sawzall and cutoff wheel. we have a couple more little projects that we were talking about. Every time it seems to yield good stuff, links, chopped arb's. Skids ect.

When are you going to drop these 35's on us? I'm getting anxious over here!

It's gonna happen when you least expect it! Keep your eyes peeled..

Naw, I'm still waiting for them. They're taking a while because I specified I wanted Goodyear MTR casings. I could of had them already if I wanted KM2 casings, but a few of my friends have had sidewall issues with the KM2s.

I'm buying some stock 5 stars from a member on here, but I just need to meet up with him to get em. Then I can mount them.

My buddy Jay (driffter) found me a used 315/75/16 MTR for $50 and it looks almost new! He's bringing that up to me tomorrow (since we are going wheelin anyways). Then I'm gonna mount it to my spare wheel this week and start the trimming with it!

Maybe I missed it, but what tread pattern are you going with?

His new tread will be somthing like this, his like new matching spare!

Hope youdont mind the post Brian!

I had some goodies on my doorstep! Thanks again for those flares brian. The custom box was too funny lol but it works:D

Glad you got the flares! Yeah, that box was pretty hokey, but it was really hard to find a box they would all fit in that wasn't too big to ship. I was hoping the USPS wouldn't smash the crap out of it!

. Some times ya just have to wonder what's going on under there! ;-)

Lol.^^

I twisted my Hi-lift jack like a corkscrew on my run yesterday with Driffter. I'll post some pics tomorrow, but the Hi-lift handle fell down while it was mounted on the bumper and it caught the ground as I was crawling over some rocks. Lesson learned: Don't secure the Hi-lift handle with zip ties. Luckily it didn't bend the mount or damage the CBI bumper, but if anyone needs any spare Hi-lift parts, lemme know because there's no fixing this one.

I went down to J-money$$$'s house today and we started clearancing my fenders for the 35s that are coming very soon! I got a 35" spare mounted on my spare wheel so we are clearancing with that so when my tires come in, it'll be ready for them.

With my 1" body lift, we did not have to tub the front firewall (as many on here think is necessary). I had to make the arc of the front fenders a little bigger on the side closest to the firewall with an angle grinder. We just marked what I needed to cut off with some tape and it literally only took a few minutes. Then we were able to pound the actual firewall back a little more than an inch with a large sledgehammer.

To check the clearance, we put the front on stands to droop the suspension, then we removed both front struts. We then put a jack under the lower control arms and raised the 35" tire until the bump stops were fully squashed. With the tire fully stuffed, we cycled the steering, looked where it rubbed, lowered the tire and took it off, and pounded the area with the sledge. We had to repeat the process a few times for each side, but now I can steer from lock to lock with a 35" tire fully stuffed and don't get any rubbing (except a little on the frame which you can't do anything about). Best part is, very little trimming an no welding was necessary.

On to the pics..

I still have to do the rear, but my biggest worry was the front so that done now!

On a side note, the extra leverage that's caused by my panhard drop actually bent the holy sh*t out of the frame side panhard bar mount. So....
PANHARD DROPS SUCK! unless they are heavily reinforced and you put a spacer in the old bolt holes to keep the mount from collapsing in on itself.

I had to basically reshape the mount by prying on it for a 1/2 hour just to get the panhard bar back in the stock location. Then I hacked the drop bracket off with a sawzall. It will be staying in the stock position for good now because extended panhard bars shove your driveshaft right into the gas tank/gas tank skid and panhard drop brackets just ruin the whole damn mount. The lesser of all the evils is to just keep it in the stock location and deal with the axle being off center a little. On my hour long drive home up the mountain, I couldn't tell one bit of difference in the handling without the panhard drop installed so I'm 100% convinced now that they don't do jack anyways.

Wow, Im stoked Brian. This is what I will be doing to my runner in the near-ish future! Came out cleaner than I was thinking it would, awesome!! Can't wait to see what you do with the rear.
