...Wow, that was a waste of the 100th post.
Honestly though, these build threads are the best maintenance records possible. It would be cool to show your future buyer your build thread.

I know I would be impressed if I were buying a vehicle and saw something as detailed as our build threads!

You should keep a maintenance book/binder. It's kind of like one. I started one late, but I think I'm all caught up to current now. It's a good investment.

I will have to take a picture of my starter for you. I don't even have to remove my sway bar. It is just sitting there...

If you are serious about getting a bike, sign up for the Motorcycle Safety Course. It gives you the basics of riding, lets you drop someone else's bike before you practice on your own, and lets you get your full license upon completion. My wife did hers at Thomas Nelson in Hampton, but they probably have a course down there too.

That sounds good. I know the DMV near me does the motorcycle safety course. I know you don't have to worry about the permit. I will look into that. My girlfriend was worried about me getting hurt on a street bike but as long as your a defensive driver, your odds are as good as anyone else.

The DMV doesn't actually do the class, they are put on by private organizations. They administer the road test if you have not taken the class. I can't seem to find anyone offering the class in VA Beach, so here is a link to the class in Hampton.

Going with Moog Front Sway bar links. I might go with 2nd Gen Rear Links made by Moog, for the front.
I might also go out and purchase Energy Suspension Polyurethane bushings and install them onto Moogs.

ALSO, adding to my "FUN TO-DO LIST," a new rear spoiler for the 4runner. Painted to match my body color.

So I did my fron sway bar end links.

NEED HELP:

In the future, I plan to upgrade my gears to 4.88,
Upgrading to 35" tires and possibly 17-18" wheels.

QUESTION: Would 18" tires be too big? Would it look weird or would it look proportional. Am I going to have a lot of rub with deep rims?

I know those ten inch wide wheels will make your tires stick out pretty far. Check out this thread for a truck with 33s on 16x10s. Might give you an idea of how that extra rim width affects your tire bulge.

I have 18" xd monsters on my rig the 18" don't look bad at all it's actually perfect. Any bigger I don't the it would look as good. Check out my pics I u want a visual. Mine are with 33" tires but should give u a good idea

[MENTION=82211]TCMach[/MENTION]: Yeah. I am a bit torn because I want a little more rim and 18" seems to be stretching it for me. I wouldnt go any bigger than 18" wheels. The extra width of wheels does widen the tire look a bit.

It is the 18" x 12", with the 6x5.5.
Also, a 18" x12" rim on a 35" x 12.50" tire will almost have the tire all the way stretched out. Also, the rim being deep will give me the look ive wanted.
I want to slowly eliminate the chrome on my truck. I want my wheels to go first.
The 33" Mud terrains and current rims are going on my T100.

Besides the fact that it's a pain in the ass to get to the upper mount bolt, why and how did you mount the rear shocks this way?

I just bought standard Tacoma Bilstein 5100's. i didnt buy my 5100's off of Toytec so I didnt have the mounting adapter. I just welded a stud right there and mounted the shock on the outside near the wheel well. I have also noticed my travel is much better.

you have MORE travel with them vertical like that? Typically you get more suspension travel with the upper mounts inbord this way- / \ because then one side compresses, the axle actually ends up matching the angle



...but, hell, if it works for you then fuhkit
