Just got back from 2 days of camping and 4wheeling in Death Valley.
This is us going over Lipponcott Mine trail. We camped just on the other side near the west end of the Racetrack.

I just did 2n54 to 2n13 last weekend. Went through a few open gates, maybe about 7" of unbroken snow on the trail, two logs were in the way. One we moved, the other we just drove over. However the last gate at big bear lake was closed so we turned around and went all the way back. 2n13c is a seasonal trail and listed as closed on the forestry website. I don't think forestry will open the gate at Fawnskin/Bear until summer?

Was that you I saw at around 1:15 headed towards Julian on hwy 79? Caught a quick glimpse of a black 4runner with red accents and am convinced it was you. Headed to Mt Laguna to go look for some Mtn Kingsnakes.

yes. we went to Julian for a day drive.
I washed the truck yestarday and the weather in SD has been great so far.

List of 2015 Truck Stuff To Do
* Diagnose and fix long intermittent misfire CEL at idle (only)
* Buy and mount full spare, slightly skinnier wheel
* Seal sunroof from leaks
* Install new front drivers seat (OEM) foam
* Install new front drivers seat leather
* Buy a legit compressor for Moab (I learned the hard way last time that they don't have air at gas stations in Utah)
* Buy an inverter
* Buy HAM radio
* Upgrade PIAA 520 lights to HID
* Install metal piece that goes under the passenger side headlight
* Buy and install Cadillac horns

Step 1 => Purchase full sized spare for my 33s
I bought a single 255x85x16 (33.3") Cooper Discoverer S/T 1 as a spare and I plan to mount it in the stock location with my Savage Rear bumper in place. It is skinnier than a standard 33 and shouldn't hang by as nearly as much.
Previously I had been using a worn down BFG Mud 33 that I got for free as a spare for my 285x75x16s (32.8")

And the ones that do have it are usually broken... or longer lines than the dmv and when it is finally your turn... it's broken.

Here's a question about your spare.
I've had problems with mine dragging around in anza borrego. The one time I needed it I had scraped it around so much in sandy places that I had too much sand around the bead for a good seal. Luckily it was a slow enough leak that I was able to get to a tire shop and have them break the bead, clean it up and reseat the tire.
Have you ever had a problem like that running a larger than stock spare? The only solution I've seen was a home made spare tire skid plate out of 1/8" aluminum.
Just figured I'd poke your brain. Looks like a good list.

* Drive up the HWY 20 minutes towards Big Pine then head east toward the northern end of Death Valley
* Once in Death Valley drive southward towards the South West entrance to Lippincott Pass which connects to The Racetrack
* After getting over Lippincott Pass (can be walked up to the top in 1.5 hrs) we looked at some mines
* Camp just 1/2 mile away from the far West End of Racetrack Valley
