I know I haven't updated in awhile, sorry folks for the delay.

Shortly I will post full trip pics from at least 3 4x4 trips from this year.

In the mean time here are a few updates.



1. Installed custom wood dual bike mount in the rear cargo area.

]After hitting up Big Bear this weekend with a group of fellow T4R members I decided my truck could use a bit of TLC so I did a full wash and wax job.

I see you go to Anza Borrego a lot. Have you ever crawled through the mud caves?

I'm also curious, what type of wax do you use?

The Big Three Upgrade was pretty cool. I never would have thought to try it if it wasn't for this forum, specifically BFAD's thread. After the upgrade my battery drain issues went away completely. Now I can leave my truck for a week without hearing click,click,click when I try to start it. I think the problem was that the charging system (pre-Big3) just wasn't able to perform strong enough to properly charge the battery during in-town use.

I've never actually visited the mud caves but I have heard they are pretty cool. Perhaps this fall when I go out to Anza-B I will consider it.

I generally use Meguires Gold Class or Pro grade wax. I never let anyone else wash the car and no drive through auto washes ever. Even the touchless machines will strip off your wax because of the hot water they use. I only use a buffer once every 2 years to keep my clearcoat from being worn away. I do however try to do a hand wax-on / wax-off coat every 3-4 months, about 3x a year.

The difference in tire size doesn't look that different to me but my buddy said it looks way more bad@ss!

Currently the truck is out of commission while I get my sway bar links fixed. It is driveable but I would prefer to wait for my sway bar before driving it again.

I do have a list of things I need to fix or upgrade on my truck soon.


* Replace foam and leather on the front drivers seat
* Buy and install Savage Off-Road front skid plate
* Fix my battery mount issues with a battery carrier of some type
* Replace sunroof motor
* Install Y adapter to merge my two stereo antennas
* Fix wheel well trim problems

It definitely looks good, like you said not a whole lot different since you had the same tire, but it definitely fills the wheel wells better. Man that savage bumper really allows a lot more clearance. Truck is looking good though!

Hi everyone. So I recently did a few things and will be posting pictures soon with the updates.

But before we get to the pictures I wanted to mention that I'm going to Death Valley this December with a few of my friends (riding in my truck) and the crew

from Toyota 120 forum. It looks to be a pretty good trip in the making.

Meguires Ultimate Compound is awesome (check out picture 6) ! :reddance:


A few weeks ago I caught the detailing bug and decided since it had been about 2

years since the last Clay Bar that I would Clay the truck and then put a coat of wax on. Then on Amazon I came across a Meguieres kit that had Clay Bars, Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Wax. I decided to use all three on my truck. I've never used the Ultimate Compound before so I didn't know what to expect. I don't have a electric buffer so I just applied and removed by hand. I think the results were amazing.


Steps
1. Wash Truck
2. Clay Truck
3. Meguiers Ultimate Compound on & off
4. Meguires Ultimate Paste Wax on & off
