Glad you had a great time Would have been nice to wheel with you again this year. We talked to a couple of people that were just setting up for the event on the sat, memorial day weekend.

I had fun on a few trails I hadn't been on before, but missed the chance for Top of the World again which I still haven't been.

I followed the carnage repots on Tacoma World. Was king of crazy, especially all the carnage on Top of the World which I gather really isn't that bad. Glad to hear you escaped any real problems

We actually parked it about halfway up but now that I've been on the trail I think he could have made it carefully taking the easy lines.

Is this right about where you parked it? Park/staging area right before this.

Yeah I know that spot. I still think we could have taken the stocker up the to the top without any damage but the safe bet was to park it.

Man, I took a stock '94 runner up Top of the World in 2007. I don't remember it being especially scary; must have degraded a lot since then.

New drivers side front seat.

Install costs: $120 at local shop.

Installed new OEM foam seat and pad. $135 & $170 for the two OEM pieces from Camelback Toyota.

Installed OEM like replica (real leather) seat cover. $400 for the leather, includes the top and bottom (can be ordered separately).

The retailer is a guy named Bruce who runs an upolstry shop in Utah. He sells on eBay and on his website.

Passenger seat - not touched. Actually its in great shape.

I've been saving for this (sort of) for almost 6 months now. My GF gave me one seat cushion for XMAS then the 2nd one for my BDAY in May and I finally shelled out for the leather.


Results: Wow! Holy $##$ I should have done this years ago. It is so much more comfortable with the new foam and leather.

No worries man and of course! I want to try and make it out to Moab next year for Rock Therapy but I think that may be a little too much to plan and budget in a years time. Your pictures are making me jealous

Been going through your build, nice. I've been looking up info on some parts and saw that you had commented on/purchased some of the parts I was looking into...

Installed new rear Toyota LC shocks, front sway bar (bought from COB then refurbished by me), new bushings and custom front end links from Stick Figure.

How are you liking the front end links?

What rear links are you running?

You seem to like sticking with Toyota/OEM parts, as I do in most cases, & was curious why you went with these end links vs the other Toyota options for end links...2nd gen rear links, 3rd gen front links, tundra links (don't remember which year)?

I purchased a complete poly [body mount] kit from 4Crawlers website.

Worked out great actually. We installed them together with a 1" BL. Details to that thread can be found in the documentation thread.

Its about $200 for the kit but he does a great job with instructions . Worked out well for me although I was afraid it would be too stiff. Its fine though.

Cut & pasted this comment from another thread b/c I didn't see info on your poly kit in the documentation thread or your build thread unless I glanced over it...

Is the polyurethane body mounts still holding up well as far as on road handling and squeaks/noises?

Not sure how worn out your original body mounts were but are you still prefering the poly's over your OEM's?

The front end links are great. I actually bought a set of those Tundra links but they just aren't long enough. The ones I bought from StickFigure are perfect.

I'm not sure what I'm running in the rear. An independent shop put them on in 2008.

The body mount was purchased from 4Crawlers site. His product is really great but the best thing is his website. It has all the pictures and instructions you would ever need.

To shoot this one I used my DSRL sideways and shot a manual panoramic with about 10 shots. It ended up creating a massive 15,000 x 10,000 resolution picture which I scaled down for the forum of course.

Ride quality seems about the same, perhaps a bit stiffer. It really seems to help out on the washboards and I was told it is supposed to tone down the shuddering you get with old stock body mounts. I have no regrets about doing them with by BL install.

Last night I completed a new Retrofit and just published up a DIY so I figure I should mention it in my build thread.

Morimoto Mini D2S 3.0 Panorama Halo Retrofit

Yes these are for sale. $700 + shipping ($50 more than last time because of the halos). The price is firm.

The thread is a DIY and is not a classified hence why I don't mention the sale or price.

Assembling and painting these took over 10 hours but I had Netflix playing the background! It is kind of like working on small models. Not that difficult but time consuming.

Hey question for you man, I seen you have the headers on your 4Runner. Where did you find them, and how do you like them? Just trying to gather as much info as I can on them.

They are Downey Headers , pretty high quality is what I was told and I bought them from the Truck Shop in San Diego for $450 in 2012. Downey went out of business more than 5 years ago so I don't think they can be purchased anymore.

Next question for you!

When you got your new body mounts from 4Crawler, did you do the install yourself, or did you have someone do it? I got mine today, and it looks like, in addition to the body mount bushings, it looks like a half inch body lift. Not all of them are the same size, so its weird.

Just trying to get your input on this. Got to get it together, and get the body lift on.
