Brights on after locking the doors

When I lock the doors/set the alarm after leaving the vehicle, the courtesy lights come on and so do the brights. The problem is if I'm parked in front of a place with people inside, it's kind of obnoxious and blinding. Is there any way to switch that to the regular headlight beams? Not sure if this matters but it's a SR5 leaving the headlights on auto off.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm as that is most likely the culprit.

That's aftermarket then as Toyota doesn't make a oem one as far as I know for 5th Gens.The dealer where you bought it would be who to ask as there are many different aftermarket ones and they can get a hold of the installer and hopefully change that or fix it if it is a problem with the way he wired it.

I said dealer installed it it was really port installed. I'll see if I can find out. Maybe I'll see if that's where's its wired in the fuse box.

if you press lock the second time on the key the lights goes off. at least that's how it is on my Trial if I left the lights on the ON position. If this is what you're referring to.

Hitting lock twice didn't fix it. I'll see if I can find out how its wired or if it's a separate module altogether.

Same issue/request over here. The dealer indicated this was not a Techstream function (they accidentally disabled my puddle lights when they attempted to disable the headlight function via Techstream), and it does not initially seem like there is a way to alleviate this "feature" with the premium security system.

I'd MUCH prefer the fog lights to come on as not to blind people in front of the vehicle. Hitting the keypad twice does not seem to have any effect...

I'd love to resolve this
