Broke my first CV axle offroad. I have a concern..

Curious did anyone ever get a resolution to whether v8 4runner can limp out with broken cv axle?

I am also curious about the best way to limp back home or at the very minimum payment.

I have now broken two CV's on the trail and since I have a V6 I was able to get home without issues both times (once I was able to switch in a new CV someone had in camp that night).

I am surprised that people are not able to move if they lock their center diff? I know someone who blew up his rear diff and had to head home in FWD with the center diff locked.

Not sure if this helps much but I talked to a Toyota tech at the service department and they told me, specifically talking about my 04 V8, that as long as the axle didn’t break in such a manner that it was dislodged from the transfer case, it should still be drivable in 2WD. He did say he wouldn’t drive it much. But should be possible to limp where needed.
