Broken Arrow Trail Sedona Question

Me and the family are going to be heading up to Sedona this Thursday for a day trip. Saw Broken Arrow Trail and am very interested. Is this a trail I can do alone or should I plan it for a day when someone can go with me? If not, any red Rock trails that I can do alone? Thanks in advance!

You will be fine alone...

Because you won't be alone! Pink Jeep Tours are always out there. If something truly bad happened, you are very close to town. Lots of nice trails in the area, another good one if you are coming from I17 is to take Schnebly Hill Road to Sedona. Rough and long, but very scenic.

Ok perfect. Yeah I heard that's where the tours like to go. Good to know! The trail looks like a lot of fun with scenic views and little pullouts to check out. Just wanted to double check with anyone that has been there. That Shnebly Hill one I've heard of too. I will have to check that out one weekend.

We are thinking of hitting broken Arrow real early. Then hitting up out of Africa zoo in cottonwood on the way home. My daughter would like that. And a lot cheaper than these local zoos with some pretty cool shows! Before it gets too hot!

You're going on a Thursday, should be relatively quiet since the snow birds have mostly gone, spring breaks are done etc... Honestly I would drive up the 17 and come IN to Sedona via Schnebly Hill road. It's quite a dramatic entrance.

About how long does that drive take from I-17 to Sedona?

not long. I remember maybe 2 hrs and that's with scenic stops along the way.

Hmmmm. Yeah that's not bad at all. Weather is saying its going to rain Thursday in Sedona. I heard it's not a good idea to take broken Arrow Trail when it's wet. Gets slippery. So if that's the case I might take this road into Sedona instead. Do I need the red Rock pass to stop? If so can I pick it up anywhere before I get on the trail?

you don't need the pass unless you leave the vehicle unattended. If you are just stopping to look around etc you are fine.

yeah broken arrow may give you the pucker factor if there is water on the trail. I went down it when there was still snow and ice, I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me nervous.

Broken Arrow

Did you ever end up doing this? I'm heading to Sedona in a few weeks and I'm a noob when it comes to Off Roading. Is this a fairly straight forward trail?
