Broken diff cover bolt-need advice

I've had so many freakin problem lately and It's really starting to anger me. I can't wrench on a bolt without it snapping. I'm getting pissed. I noticed I had some slight seepage from my rear diff at the 3rd member. The area it was coming from was right below one of the diff cover bolts. I noticed it looked a little loose compared to the other ones. So I put the socket on and try to tighten it a little and it just snaps.

Now its really dripping and I'm not sure what to do. I'm at my apartment away from home with just a socket set pretty much. I've tried putting some rtv on it to seal it as a temporary fix but it doesn't seem to be working. It's leaking from the bolt that snapped and where it was originally but a lot more now. Any advice? I'm really getting aggravated and I don't wanna try something stupid that will end up making it worse. Thanks

To do it right, you're going to have to pull the diff, and install one of these to keep the studs from pulling through the housing Toyota, Suzuki Samurai, and Jeep Off Road Parts

I would clean it with a degreaser as best you could, then quickly gloop some JB weld all over it. Hopefully the JB weld would be thick enough to hold the flow back until it hardened. Worst comes to worse get a pump and every 10 miles go and pump more fluid in until you can get home.

I had the idea of maybe draining all the fluid out and then putting something on there to hopefully seal it like the rtv I was using or jb weld like you said. That way it would have the proper time to cure before I put more fluid in?

That's a good idea. And you plan to properly fix it when you get back to a garage right?

Of course. I just need something temporary to by some time.
