Broken Driveshaft, snapped shocks, bent links, etc..

I look forward to results. I almost pulled the pin on the ToyTec adjustable upper arms. If we weren't leaving town next Wednesday, I would have.

After everything was in, I went for a little test drive around the neighborhood. Everything worked properly, it was good to hear that supercharger whine again . The rear new 5150s are so AWESOME!! I am 100% happy I decided to upgrade, its a very noticeable change over the 5125s. The front feels so barbaric in comparison, coilovers are high on the list now.

I installed my 5150s yesterday afternoon. Went over to a friend's fancy new garage that he built in his back yard. It was a good thing that he has a lift because the 5125's were rusted on at the bottom and required considerable force and cussing to get them off. :bash:

So with that I am having him build me a new custom drive shaft designed to fit the lifted height of the vehicle and be balanced perfectly. I am hoping I can eliminate some 65+ vibes from this as well.

I finally bought a protractor so I could measure the angles on my driveline. With 890 springs in the rear, the driveshaft is at 11 degrees and the pinion is sitting at about 7 degrees. And I am half loaded for a weeks worth of camping for myself and 2 kids. So firgure in I am probably about 5-6 degrees difference between the shaft and pinion. Recommended range for shafts with a double cardan is 0-2 at the pinion and the tolerance is to compensate for any axle wrap. 0 would be ideal.

Thats more than likely where the high speed vibes are coming from. Ive had all 4 wheels balanced multiple times, the last time they all still came out to 0. New drums on the rear and the new shaft has been brought within .005 runout and balanced twice. Looks like ToyTec is getting more of my money. I just wish I had gotten on this sooner, Ive got about a 1000 mile trip starting next week. May just have to occupy the slow lane.
