Alarm never went off.. Wtf?? I searched for where the Glass breakage sensor is. Found one thread said, on the steer column under the cover. Does anyone know if that true? I'll look for it later after I go to get it replaced shorty :dammit: This is the second time this happened. Alarm didn't go off unless you open one of the doors. Both times no door was opened and nothing taking.

Maybe.... My neighbor got his grand prix broke into last night as well. It just got towed away to the dealership. His stereo was gone they busted his dash apart and broke the ignition switch out of the column.

Do you make a post a year?

Some alarms have glass break and some don't. what year is your 4runner?

Sorry, its a 97 limited. It has the microphone with the alarmed light. I know where the brain box is but, not the glass breakage box is.

On my '99 the microphone is on the small piece that also has the red light and TOYOTA on it.

When I first got my 4Runner and learned of this feature I decided to try it out (for S&G) by breaking some bottles with the window down and alarm armed. I pulled my recycle trash can right up to the driver door and dropped a mini sledge on some beer bottles at the bottom of the can and the alarm didn't go off. My wife did however come out and ask me what the hell I was up to.

Maybe it's a gimick or the breaking frequency has to be just right but it didn't work for me. I hope that if someone does break my window my wife is around because she'll hear it and go give the guy crap.

For those that want to know where the glass breakage brain adjustment box is. It's the lower dash panel under the steering column 4 10mm bolts. It's the black box that sits on top of the vent tube that runs to the drivers side vent. It was set at 5 so I set it all the way up to 10. It was to touchy at ten so, back it off a little. I'll see if their stupid enough to come back. This was on a 97 runner limited.
