Looking good. I just did the LED dome light replacement and I'm loving it. I ended up just going through ebay for about 6 bucks each. Keep us posted!

Looks good. You should paint the trim white too. White on white looks killer on the 4Runners.

More little things...

Important maintenance issues: I just replaced the fuel filter. The old one was a Toyota part which means it probably has been filtering gas for all 107,000 miles. The new one looks just like it w/o Toyota sticker. I noticed a nasty brown tint to the fuel I drained out of the filter. Thankfully that's what a filter is for--to catch all that stuff. Noticed better throttle response after the new part.

I also switched out my blinker assy. since it was cracked.

Less important aesthetic issues: I painted my skid plate red. I think it looks awesome

Have you seen one? I'd like to see a pic. I'm always up for plasti-dipping my trim white (that way I can just peel it off!)

The rear diff breather mod is also a good one and it is easy, cheap and can save you a lot of money if you do water crossings.

Not really mods but I recomend getting some recovery gear. No matter how built up a truck is it can still get stuck. A few shackles and recovery strap are a great way to get started.

Recent Mod and Rear Shocks

I just did a sweet mod that I found on the 4th or 5th Gen pages (shhh, don't tell). I installed LED lights on the underside of the hood so the engine compartment is lit up when the hood is open. Here is the site I found the lights and the hood switch

It wasn't too hard to install. Recommended materials are:

-at least 2 LED light modules
-hood pin switch
-about 50ft of 22 guage electrical wiring
-2 non-metal washers (plastic works well)
-3/8"-24 thread nut (this is a finer thread- 18 doesn't work on the hood pin)
-Rubber stopper

Today I also replaced my rear shocks. Nothing fancy. Economy brand from Rock Auto. Hopefully someday I'll be able to afford a suspension lift...then bigger tires..then an ARB bumper.....then......

I did notice a ride difference. The old ones were stock from production with over 100k miles. Felt great.

Just Curious, did you plasti dip your wheels as well? Or are those aftermarket? The skid plate looks crazy cool, I'm definitely doing that one!

I like the grill idea man. I might paint/plasti it black (stealthily blend in) or red (to match the skid) instead of chrome but that's just me, great idea either way!

Nice work so far - maybe if you slid a small strip of LED's in above your grill mod that thing would really pop at night! Just an idea...
