Bud Built Sliders Questions

I searched, there's tons of debate about which sliders, bump or not, etc. I also emailed BB and haven't heard back after weeks. Oddly enough my desire for Bud Built bump outs is not as intended. I want them as both a step for better roof access and with full tread plate to help block some of the salt spray and road grime from the rust belt. I've seen some of the Bud Builts with powder coating issues, but hope that has been resolved or a locally reputable shop might be able to do better. So let's hear it, any noticeable difference in the spray up from the road with full tread plate? Is there enough slider up front to use as a solid foothold either for roof or girlfriend to use as a leg up?
If you don't have BB please say so in your reply, they are only ones I know that have solid tread plate.

I've got budbuilt bump outs with full tread plating and yes they can be used as a step. My wife appreciates them for sure. Not sure on the spray up part since I never had any without full tread plating but i'd imagine they help a bit. The bump out in the back also helps with loading things on the roof. It's a pretty substantial "step". I've had mine for 40k and love them. No issues with the powder coat on mine. Go for it!

I tried reaching out to Buds as well with no response. I ended up getting Metal tech sliders and my wife loves them.

I have BB sliders with the full tread plate but no bumpout. Great build quality and fit. They block most of the road spray but some still gets on the sides. I ordered mine bare and prepped/primered them myself then had a company coat them with thick bedliner. No rust yet but they way they are sealed, I doubt that will ever be an issue. The only things I would have done differently is have BB angle them down a bit and possibly explore using aluminum as my set are pretty heavy.

Bud-Built Sliders

I got the bump-out full step w/diamond plate insert as I didn't want anyone's small feet or weird shoes/heels getting caught in something with openings and cracks. Don't live in the rust/salt belt, but in my experience since installation (1 year ago), the BudBuilt product's powder coat looks as good as the day they arrived. Haven't had to slip a jack under one side or other yet, but am sure they'd be up for the job---on a day-to-day basis, they provide extra protection against the lazy louts who throw their doors open in parking lots.:spit:

I don't think budbuilt does communication. I emailed and called a few times with no response. They lost a sale because of it. Imagine if they sent the wrong item or there was some other customer service issue you needed to resolve and there was no way to talk to them.

Just installed a set with bumpouts last week. Haven't had them for long, but I love them. I had no issues with customer service. I received an email from them asking if anything was incorrect on my order. Product arrived roughly within the time they estimated. I called to ask a question after the purchase and my call was answered on the first time. No trouble at all. Using as a step is fine for me, but they are really only a few inches below the floor boards. They could definitely be used for roof access, but my wife still has a hard time using as a step(probably mostly attributed to the lift).

Their website says that they are in the process moving to a new location which could be why its hard to get in touch with them right now. A few weeks ago I e-mailed back and forth with them a few times and they were very responsive (reply within 24hrs) and answered all of my questions. I ultimately decided to order some Shrockworks sliders, but the decision had nothing to do with BB's customer service. I'd say be patient and keep calling/e-mailing if you really like the BB's design.
