BudBuilt bump out beefy sliders

I'm going to bite the bullet and start a new post trying to get some pictures of bud built sliders.

Anyone with a LIMITED have these beefy bump out sliders on? I'm dying to see how it looks and how hard the install is/ if the rockers had to be removed like you would have to for shock works..

BTW - SR5 and Trail pictures welcomed too :)

Cheers

You need to confirm with Bud but I 'think' both the Beefy and Not look the same and are the same size - meaning same OD of the tubing. Its the wall thickness that is different.

Corrections allowed.

Did you ever install yours on the limited? PICS PICS PICS!!!

You'll have to ditch the rocker covers or cut all but the top inch and a half or so off. I've already done the research, and yes the beefy sliders use a thicker walled DOM tube.

Even for the bud built? I thought that was only applicable for the shock works since those are specifically made for the TE.

I have the Budbuilt bump out sliders on my SR5. You need to remove the rocker panel cover as it hangs so low. I can try and add some pics later if you want.

Yep, the only slider that I know of that allows you to keep the stock rocker cover is the Rocky Road Outfitter's slider. They have a TE and SR5/LE specific application for their sliders.

Here are a few shots of the sliders. Install isn't too hard as I did it by myself. It would have been much easier with an extra set of hands though. My 4runner is still fairly stock as the big changes won't happen until this summer. The removal of the rocker panel is a must. As mentioned above Rocky Road is the only outfitter I found who ran their sliders under the panel cover. I don't even miss the cover anymore as the sliders cover the unfinished area great for me.

Philly,
You have a great looking truck. I'm thinking about the bb bump out sliders as well and was curious how they bolted on to your limited. My concern is the XREAS line gets in the way as OKKI showed in his shrockworks sliders thread. Did you have to bend your XREAS lines to bolt these on?
thanks

Hey Danny I don't have the budbuilts but if you want to see what your rig would look like with trimmed rockers you can always drop by my house. IMHO trimming the panels give it a more finished look than removing them.

hey phillyd2, did you get the beefy one? I just want to know if it is worth it. Thanks!

No, I thought they would be way overkill. Usually I'm a big fan of overkill and then shooting it in the head twice again but the non beefy ones are plently strong.

Not sure if anybody has actually went with the beefy here or not.

If I still had my Jeep CJ and was climbing rocks the size of NJ :hello: then maybe I would have consider them.

You are close enough and welcome if you ever wanted to stop by and take a look at them.

Phillyd2,
looks great on the sliders. would love to see a side shot of sliders and your rockers, how the finished look is. did you trim them or just remove the rockers completely? Simple bolt up? interfere with xreas?

thanks
