A couple of people do, I would ask Harper7, the pictures on bud's site are of his rig.

Dang!! Andrew you always have some goodies on their way haha. Somebody is preparing for Moab or FJ Summit?
 
I've got the 5 piece from BB - Front, mid, t-case, tank, and rear diff.

My installation was not a lot of fun. If you get the 4- or 5-piece set, I would definitely suggest installing the t-case skid first, since it's position is not really adjustable. In addition, I had to do a bunch of grinding (then painting) on the diff skid to get it to fit.

I 4wd in the rocks of Colorado and Utah, so I'm pleased that I've got the armor down there, but it weighs over 200 lbs. You might take a look at ASFIR, who make some decent (lighter) aluminum skids:

(Slee - Toyota - FJ Cruiser / 4Runner Skid Plates)

Shrockworks now has their own steel versions to compete with Bud.
 
Thanks Dave, I liked the budbuilt one as it has the easy access oil hatch that I didnt see on the other ones. Nice to know there are other brands out there though.

Haha! Yea I've been saving for a set but I found a local guy that is a vendor for BB, so I'm saving like $150 for shipping. FJ summit for sure, Moabs only a couple hours away, hopefully I can persuade the guys I'm going with to stop by there!

I've got Shrockworks on the way...should be any time now, ha - but it has the easy access oil door as well.

Me and the guys from DC are headed to Moab the week after FJ Summit if you want to join!

My full set installed without a glitch. Per Harper's advice I started from the gas tank and worked my way forward. Definitely how I would recommend doing it. Everything overlapped and aligned just right. There is some play to work with, so you need to really see how the pieces fit together to get them just right. And I did not have any instructions with mine either. Bud wraps each plate's hardware with the plate itself so it is east to see what is what.

For the record my diff skid was very snug too but mainly because of the powder coat thickness. I gave a few taps with a rubber mallet and it went right in. The securing bar on top does bend when you tighten it, and does not need to touch the top of the skid itself. I like having the extra weight on the bottom of the truck, and there is no denying how stout they are.

I believe he'll custom make you aluminum or stainless ones ,not sure of the price.

I just had mine off a couple of months back for my headers,again, and the fit is perfect on mine....starting from the rear one first.
Easiest way is to start from the rear as they overlap that way(forward over aft) so rocks can't catch on the seams as easy and get all the bolts/nuts started THEN tighten them up. I got them up in place with them centered on a floor jack and jacked them into place and started the nuts. Took less then 30 minutes the second time.

As far as getting them just for the oil door.........naaaa!

Yeah can't judge by title alone. Scroll down in that thread, the BB skid plate install is there

The problem with having new guys looking at your skid plate installation is that the design has changed since yours were made. Not by much, but it is different.
