Burning tire smell, right rear.

started about ~500 miles ago.

Smells like a tire after doing a burnout. (or a melted clutch)

Tire looks completely fine.
The wheel, even after driving an hour isn't that hot (same as other wheels) so I don't think it's a dragging caliper. Both calipers are between 90-92f.

I don't see anything on the exhaust.

I inspected the underbody and engine bay and there is NO evidence of any fluid leaks.

The driveshaft has spit up a miniscule amount of grease, but it doesn't stink, and it's not on the exhaust.

Once it was overwhelming after a short drive. But now it's just lingering/stinking up my garage.

Smell is strong in right rear wheel well.
I'm at a loss.

Also my wife was following me in her truck, and she said it smelled really awful from outside while driving.
(I don't smell it inside.)

This tends to happen with our trucks. A few threads on it exist already and none seem to have a conclusive answer other than that it isn't harmful.

My 2014 stinks when I'm accelerating up hills, If we're talking about the same smell that is. It was really noticeable at first so I assumed that it is just factory coatings burning off of the exhaust. I have around 8000 miles now with a fair amount of unpaved road driving and the smell is not as noticeable.

Do you have your rear window down? You'll definitely smell the sulfur like stench when the rear window is down from the exhaust, especially going up hill.

My '14 SR5 had the same smell, and so does my '15 TE. I just learned to ignore it. I can only smell it when I get out of the truck.
