Bushings!! Energy Suspension, Prothane, Rubber?!

I'm doing a front suspension rebuild and thought about going polyurethane. Does anyone have any input on them vs rubber? I heard after time they will creak pretty bad? My 4runner is gonna be a daily driver with mild off road time. TIA

I went poly on my excursion and they work great. No issues and tightened up the play on the steering a lot! I will do my 1st Gen. 4 runner next!

Did you do a full kit? Were they easy to install?

Energy suspension. I did new sway bar end links, sway bar bushings and bump stops all around. Very easy to install.

Energy suspension poly kit works great on heavy vehicles and cars that need stiffer handling as for the 4Runner I wouldn't do it. Adding poly is going to stiffen up the ride quality, good for off-road but bad for daily driving or long hauls in my opinion. Having fresh rubber replacement bushings that are not 20 years old will seem like a new truck when you replace them.
A 10,000lbs excursion is going to ride on poly bushings better then a 3,000lbs 4Runner just FYI

I've been replacing suspension components on my 94 with Moog rubber bushings. It has been AWESOME.

Bought complete upper control arms. Bought lower bushings and lower ball joint (Moog stuff, had a local shop press in the new bushings for me). Also Moog swag bar mounts and links. I don't have many miles on the setup but it rides sssooooooooo good. (oh and new Rancho RS5000 shocks all around with rubber bushings, supplied)

All of it was pretty cheap, all things considering. Just ordered it all off of Rock Auto.

Thanks for the info you guys have a good point on the rubber. Since my truck will be primarily a daily rubber may be the way to go.

I've used Prothane suspension bushings. I didn't find them any harsher than rubber, but they do get squeaky. Greasable shackles helped tremendously.

Did you use them on the front control arms too? Or just the rear?

Just in the leaf springs. You'd probably have to drill and tap for a zerk to make the control arms greasable.
