Buying. 4-runner

I'm looking into buying a 4-runner. The end of the axle looks discolored, but isn't wet. Is this the start of seal leak? Picture is below Thanks!

Pop the wheel off and look behind the drum.
I'd bet the wheel cyl. is leaking or did leak.
Also look at the inside of the rim. Is it wet? Also most likely the wheel cyl. ( or brake cyl. ) same thing.

Like he said. Probably not the seal leaking.

If it was leaking, it would be flung all over the place. Ask me how I know... :thumb3:

I have nothing to add, but go one picture to the right on the album. Some people need to clean up their photo accounts before sending people links.

I don't think that's anything to worry about, just looks like an old stain.

And one pic to the left shows more oily spots on the front control arms along with another glaring issue. The front axles are missing!!! :biggrin2:

My wife and I are the proud owners of a Silver 2000 4-Runner SRS. Woohoo. Thanks for the info guys. Everything is dry, so it may have just been an old stain. SCRunner12- No more pictures of stange people holding dogs. :biggrin2:
