Buying full new seats vs. getting stock seats re-done

Sup fellas?

My boney ass is needing some more support. I drive my 4Runner a LOT and want it to be as comfortable as a Cadillac as far as the seat goes.

Debating PRP, but not really cuz they will be pretty firm.

I'm tall / skinny / no meat on my a$$

What are your thoughts?

I find myself in a similar situation. My leather is in good shape, but would need re stuffing at least. I wonder if an upholsterer would be able to make them more comfortable than stock? I'd also want to get rid of the stupid raised edges on the cushion without completely reupholstering.

Corbeau SR1...that should do the trick!

FYI, I had some Corbeau Moabs and the seat cushion foam doesn't last long at all compared to OEM seat foam.

PRP, Beard and Mastercraft are quality products. Corbeau, and some others not so much.

The cab in a runner is pretty cramped, especially if you have a sunroof. I've seen Mastercraft Baja's installed, but would have to sit in them to make sure I still fit.

When I bought my 4R, it was 16 years old. The driver's seat bottom was squashed and soft.
Took it to a local seat upholstery place, had the bottom re-stuffed with stiffer foam. Wanted it to be like a racing seat or even just a normal Volkswagen car.(which have nice seats)
What happened was that the bolsters became more extreme(taller) and now functioned to cut off the circulation in my legs just above the knee.
Later, I opened up the seat, and hacked off 3/4 of the bolster material. Now my legs weren't sitting on a ridge, but I then noticed the other problem with the firm foam: My butt bones sunk in to the [stiffer]foam because where the butt bones fall on the part of the seat is where the foam is thinnest. This, I believe, is the design problem with these seats.
Recently, I bought and installed a stock Toyota bottom foam(which also fits in a Camry, btw).
It is so soft and sloshy, I feel it interferes with my ability to fully and safely control the vehicle. It's so soft, I don't think it's going to cut off circulation because the bolsters have no integrity: The whole seat bottom is gooey and lame.
Conclusion: A better seat is needed. MAYBE there is a car seat genius out there that could select the EXACT right foam to make the 4Runner seat better...but, I wouldn't count on it.
Edit: All this is with cloth "Sport" seats; leather has more stiffness in the leather, which helps fight the gooey foam feeling.

Whenever I find a good set at the junkyard, I'll be getting some seats out of a 2000-2005 Celica.

My dad has one and the seats are sooooo amazing. 3 out of 4 bolt holes line up if I remember right. I test fitted them about 2 years ago before I got some mint condition 4Runner seats.

1980s MR2 and Supra seats are also super comfortable and I would rather have some of those, but they are super rare. They're the best car seat I have ever sat in.
