Buying tires need advise asap

Love my C rated KO2's.. much less bouncy than my previous P rated Michelin AT's or the OEM Dunlops.

I wouldn't say it rides stiffer or more firm, I'd say it rides "tighter".

I've found even 2 lbs. of air pressure (+ or -) can make a difference on the ride of the KO2.

My MPG dropped maybe .25 maximum. Surprisingly, the KO2's are actually quieter than the Michelin AT's they replaced.

I tried those Cooper ATW and glad someone on here likes them. I pulled them off after only 1 day. The steering feel was way to numb/vague for my taste and found them a bit harsh on concrete expansion joints on the freeway. It was a real shame because I special ordered them and really wanted to like them.

Might want to take a look at the Cooper ATW. All Terrain 4 season "snow" tire. Same as the AT3 but with additional siping. I put them to the test last week in 10" of unforcasted snow while hunting. Never spun a tire, honest. I was 5 miles from the highway and honestly was worried about getting out of the woods. This thing didn't bat an eye despite pulling a trailer and pushing snow with the undercarriage.

Stock size (265/70/17), P rated. Little hum on the freeway but not annoying. They have been great in the couple snow falls we've had. I have about 3000 miles on them now. Based on what I've experienced I'd recommend them for anyone living in the snow belt.

The 265's ko2 are great ,ride great fell just like my 20's and not any louder than the dunlops . the sales man at discount said i could swap out the 265 c ply for a 275 if I wanted should I do that is there that much of a difference between the two in height ? pros or cons , are they gonna be about the same as the 265's ko2 ride and mpg or they gonna be like a log truck and lose another 3mpg

You need to get the 275s so you can tell us what the difference is.

Pretty sure I'm going to tomorrow, they ordered them .
the 4wheel parts guy said the 275 should ride better if aired down to the 35psi than the 265s do @ 42 he also said its a huge difference in appearance on the 4Runner night and day although on paper it's only .06 inch he said its looks way more so I figured I'd give them a shot no additional charge to upgrade

Is it too hard of a ride ?

Also what does your 275 measure in height on truck ?

That seems short for a 265/70/17 tire. Are you sure you don't have a 16" rim? The standard height for a 265/70 on a 17" rim should be approximately 31.6". You have lost almost an inch there???

Kinda thinking something is wrong here . On a stock 15 limited , there almost an inch shorter than my 20"s with yoko 245/60/20 that's why im asking how tall your 275s are measuring on the truck . It's Has 4inches on both sides of tire between the tire opening on back tire and 3in either side of the front tires if that makes sense .

Why are you doing all this funky measuring? Measure across the wheel---from 1 side to the other; I'm betting it is right around 31.6". Guess what? So were your 20s.

Correction to an earlier post the tires size were 275/70/17 KO 2'S LOAD E, the ride was great no noise smooth ride however it vibrated at different speeds 30,50,70 mph vibrated at the wheel and seat I could see my passenger seat vibrating and feel it at the wheel it drove me crazy. TOYOTA troubleshoot it under warranty for free and told me it was normal that it was the tires being LT Load E I don't know if it was the weight of the tires, mental, the fact that it was first set of LT tires load rate E, I ever own, out of round or may be rubbing? who knows i went with NITTO TERRA GRAPPLERS G2's 265/70/17. Feels different right of the bat. Hmmm weight difference?

TIRE BUYER has a 45 day warranty, they sent the new set of tires NITTO TERRA AT G2's to Firestone where they drop the KO'S off and had me take the tires with me do the warranty papers once Im ready to send them back they are going have the tires pick up from my home. Never used TIRE BUYER before but the way you could order tires and return the tires it's easy. No affiliations.
