Buzzing Sound coming from evap canister with ignition off and key out

Habanero, you are the man, lol! So, there's nothing inside the little plastic box?? Does it need to be air tight or is a loose fit ok?

Toyota called today. Same parts guy said he found the part I need but it's attached to the vacuum canister and they won't sell it separate. I have to buy the entire thing ($330 actually,) even though I only need about $20 worth of it, haha! I thanked him and said to keep it.

Nothing in the box. I'd go for something air tightish given what it's for.

Brilliant. Been looking all over for this part because the buzzing is just too much and the solution too easy. How'd you rig up that can? Could you post a little more on how you put it together. Great work, man.

So simple. As I said, inserted a hose barb in each end of the can. Cut the line to add the can. You're just adding a little air space and I doubt it needs to be as big as what I had laying around. Heck, look at pics of the part they used to have for the fix....what, an inch by an inch or so?

That it's a mustard tin is because it amused me.

I bought my 96 in 98-99 makes the noise, dealership baffled by it always. Will still make noise, even if not driven for days.
