Buzzing

2011 Trail-KDSS,

Have about 1500 miles on my new 4R. Recently got off of a 4 hour trail ride, shut off the truck for a hour or so. When we got back in, my 6-6 280Lb father-in-law sat in the front passenger seat, and I got a "buzzing" noise coming from the drivers side dash. He got out...it stopped....he sat back down...it started.

Stopped after a trip of about 15 miles. Have not heard it since!!

I live about 2.5 hours away from the nearest dealer, so I will have to wait abit to take her in and see what they say. Prob wont be able to reproduce the problem as usual when you take a car in.

Ideas???

I'm guessing this is the "passenger on seat" sensor which will turn on the passenger airbags + seatbelt alert.

Nothing to worry about, "I guess".

I'd say if you you can't reproduce it probably it went away by itself. I would go to a dealer only if I can show the issue and check it it's still there afterwards. Otherwise going to dealer is just waste of time in my experience.

Ok, I'll be nice - Do a search - It has been discussed many times - it the end.....it is NORMAL.

I did do a search....and came up with Nada!!!

Not a very normal thing to be "normal" in a vehicle. Hmm I guess I will have to limit my passengers to 250Lbs.

My guess is that he did not know exactly where the noise was coming from. I have a strong feeling this is what he heard (which happens after the vehicle has been shut off and sits for a while)
