Thank you! My hubs was telling me the same thing last night, so I'll make sure they don't over charge me. They will have to add a curved pipe in though, so I know that will make it a little extra, but hopefully not by much.

Okay, don't know if this really counts as a "mod" lol, but it was the first thing I did to my rig, right at the dealership, lol.
That is Gawdawful! Sorry, I'm opposed to all things "bling" Oh well, glad you like it. This really makes the "build" thread

Ya, I actually don't care for bling either, believe it or not. But, I had it on my Camry, because that car felt like a rental vehicle, had to change something about it. It just didn't feel right not having it in my Runner too. It's held up for 4 years now, I thought the gems would be half gone by now, worth the 20 bucks! And the expressions from the gate gards when I come on base, LOL.

When modding a vehicle there is a very fine line between creative and hideous. It is important to remember - just because I can doesn't necessarily mean I should.

Those guys getting it done for $80 with tip out there door are getting really great deals.
I think I paid about $70 something for my tip and $50 to have the install done... That's chop the old, form and weld the new pipe and tip. What I'm saying is, walk in and tell them you're gonna pay them $50 and this is what you want. You'd be surprised at how many places will actually let you "name your price". Good luck!

To each their own. There's a lot of stuff on here that I see that I don't like, but that's my opinion. Everyone has their own tastes. If we all had the same likes this would be a pretty boring place.

Thank you for the advice! That sounds like a fair price to me, I will certainly keep that in mind. The place has really good customer reviews, so I'm hoping they are as good as people say and won't try and ripe me off because I'm a girl.

Hubs ended up seeing it just an hour or so after you told me about it. Holy cow, I can't believe it pulled the space shuttle, that is insane!! Way to go Toyota's! Bet they'll get a few more truck sales this month, lol.

Que the canned forum response to someone not liking something. Of course, the only thing that matters is her opinion. That's why I said, glad you like it in my first post. Since everyone has their own tastes, I assume that includes me too, right? If you're going to make a "build" thread you have to be prepared for the reality that not everyone is going to like what you do.

Not exactly a "mod" but I did "install" them on my trucks seats this evening, lol. Got tired of my plain boring ones I've had since I bought my rig 2 years ago, needed something different to look at.
Yep, I know, probably looks like too much/red neck, but it looks better in person, and it's nice "to me" to look at. Plus, the material is awesome!

Rim's and tires!
So, hub's surprised me this evening by saying that he wants to use our tax returns this coming year to get new rim's and tires for both our trucks, wahoo!! Didn't think I'd be getting those for a loong time. So now, I have some questions for anyone who may see this post.
I know what I want, but not sure about sizing everything, maybe someone could help?
First off I hope to be getting a Toytec lift kit for xmas, in the 2/3 size and will set it aside until I get the rims and tires.
Next, I know I want to go with BFG's and am thinking about the 275/70R17 size, because according to the suspension thread, I shouldn't have to remove or cut anything, is that correct?
Rims- I for sure want some Methods! But I have no clue on how to figure out which size I need to fit those tires, can anyone help? Here's a link to a bunch of different sizes...

Just trying to get everything planned out for early next year, I am so excited! I really hope he doesn't change his mind, because wifey won't let him forget what he promised! =D

I would definitely stick with a 17" wheel and probably between the 8-9 inch range for width.

For tires I have seen a 285/70x17 run with no fender modification to little modification. If you go with 275/70x17 I would not for see the need for fender modification.
But remember I come from the 5th Gen world.
a 275/70x17 is comprable in size to a 275/65x18. First is for the 17" wheel the second for a 18" wheel.

Thank you for the help! Hmm, yes a 17 inch wheel seems like it would be better then, I don't want to worry about any rubbing issues and I have no interests in cutting parts of my runner off, lol. And I'm glad to know the 275/70x17 and 275/65x 18 are similar! Because I really like the look of the larger wheel size, but I didn't realize they are basically the same wheel just an inch difference. I've been trying to find good pics to compare the two. Sounds like I should stick with 17's though, which I'm fine with. =)
