calling all custom front bumper owners, arb,shrockworks,tjm,ect

so i have decided to just make my own, but i first need some basic dimensions,

i know from fender flare to fender flare on my 1999 limited is about 72"

but what i really need is mounting specs, i.e. frame rail spacing and other points of attachment commonly used.


and the 3 basic dimensions i have marked in red below

my bumper will be different from the one shown above, but the dims needed will allow me follow the basic contour of my truck.

Are you doing this yourself? Of all the people that I know that have built a front/rear bumper, all of them hated it. Not the bumper, but the labor. I hope you really really love doing this stuff. It's no walk around the park.

But good luck with it. Building something yourself has it's pro's, too.

hahaha no i got the old dog welder from work making it, the guys a pro for sure, so no labor on my part i just need info so i can design one on cad and get all of the plate laser cut for him. (also thinking about making it in a flat pattern)

That is a deal of a lifetime. Might as well get him to do the rear bumper while you're at it!

You might want to take a peak at the Armorology bumper, just for style ideas. There is a picture of Ric's old 3rd gen on there. That bumper really accents our trucks beautifully.

also its a good idea not to tuck the sides really tight to the body leave a little play so when you clip tree it push's the truck away from them

nah the bumper's installed now, but it was just so you have an idea on how to mount yours
