Camburg UCA

I ordered a set from wheeler’s Offroad and after installing them I noticed the gusset is facing down and zerk fittings facing up. Per instructions and all the photos I have seen online the gussets are supposed to be facing up and zerk fittings facing down. As you can see in the photos the bigger hole on the uniball is on the same side as the gusset. Should be opposite of gusset. Has this happened to anyone here?

Is there any down side with the gussets facing down as opposed to facing up? I checked their website and their instructions for f150 install has the gussets facing down but for tacos and 4rs are opposite. I’m gonna try to see if wheeler’s can send me another set with uniball installed correctly so my car won’t be down and return the defective set. Other option would just keep the uca as it is with gusset on bottom if there is no downside to it.

From what I see on Wheeler's website the Camburg Uniball arms are just like what you have in your photos with the gussets down, the Camburg Moog ball joint arms are the opposite with the gusset up.

I don't see where it matters which side has the gussets, the arms should be just as strong either way.

I forget exactly how mine were before I installed them, but can you just flip the stainless steel spacer to the opposite side of the uniball? Both sides of the uniball should come out and you can install them opposite of what they are now, right?

the stainless steel spacer only goes on one way. One end of the uniball is where the bolt sits and the other end is for the spacer.

i was thinking about just taking out the uniball but i am not sure if they are press fit in and i don't want to end up doing more damage.

interesting. i wonder if the instructions that were included is only for the moog ball joints? but i don't see any difference is rigidity with the gusset on top or bottom

I asking because is it possible you have them on the wrong sides, that would explain why it different than the Moog, the way you're describing them that would put the ball of the uniball on the top, I would think it should be down.

there is a label that says this way up (it is upside down along with the camburg stickers when installed onto vehicle) but if i follow the label the spacer would be facing up instead of down to connect to the knuckle.


i definitely installed them on the correct side since the longer arms are to be to the front of the vehicle.

i'm hoping this is how it is designed and the instructions are strictly for the moog type. If that is the case, that means they installed the labels upside down then. i will know soon enough once i get a hold of them tomorrow if not Tuesday.

Good indication was that the stickers were upside down. hahah. My Camburgs came with stickers indicating driver/passenger and which way up, but mine were also ball joint so it was easy enough to know which way they had to go.

Anyone’s resi hose touching the uca? Mine is or close to touching.
