Can a bug come thru the air vent inside the car?

I spotted a gross spider that was about 1.5 inch big on my windshield, and it sneaked and disappeared into the cabin air intake grill underneath the windshield while I was trying to get rid of it. :doh:
Now I am afraid if it would come through the air vent inside my car while i am driving. I am just hoping it won't come thru the air vent and just repel from my car (please?).
Otherwise, I need to figure out how to deal with this guy.

Anyone has any suggestions or thoughts?

if you left the recirc vent open bugs (or leaves, pine needles, and even rodents) can get down to the filter above the blower fan. the filter isn't a perfect gasket fit but it's pretty snug, most large insects would probably stop there.

As far as I know, all cabin air comes through the cabin air filter (in the back of the glove box on 5th gen), so nothing can get in. Unless you open the doors or windows.

that's what i said, that's the filter i was talking about. when the OA damper is open you can see the filter through the cowl

Yeah, I just figured that if OP knew how to get access to the filter, they could remove it and say "hi" to the spider...

Did you turn the fan on to see if the spider runs away from the air?
Or you can also close all the vents, crank up heat and cook that sucker. I don't think a spider that small will smell too bad.

What Headpaneer said. Close all the dash vents and crank the up the heat :AK47::AK47:. It might crawl out of the defroster vents though so be prepared to smash it with a flip-flop or something.

I have a friend who was bitten by a brown recluse and took about a year to get over it. Just a very little spider.
