I'm looking at buying a 06 runner w/ the v8 and 4wd. it has the x-reas system and i was wanting to put the ultimate lift on it. is this possible and what am i looking at?
Can I put the ultimate lift on if my 4runner has the x-reas system?

Yes, but you will lose the functionality of the XREAS system.

I just dumped XREAS on my 5th Gen for the Toytec Ultimate. Haven't looked back for even a split second. The ultimate, while considered a basic suspension lift by many here, is a solid improvement.
Oh, and by "lose the functionality", he means you completely rip it out. Not difficult by any means but it will add maybe and hour to the install process for whatever you select.

As previously noted, you can install the Toytec Ultimate kit to REPLACE XREAS. I just swapped out my XREAS system for the Toytec Ultimate about three months ago. I was apprehensive at first, as I did not want to lose the "on-street" handling characteristics. I mean, the whole purpose of XREAS is to make cornering more like a sports car, rather than an SUV. That being said, my coils were on their last legs and thus, it was time for a change. With the Ultimate kit, cornering is definitely different. There is not much "leaning" away from turns as I was originally worried about. But you can feel the height of the vehicle as you are turning. It's not bad at all. But it's not XREAS either. The bonus, however, is that your suspension will feel bullet proof. On road and off, your suspension will absorb everything you throw at it.

thats what i was wondering if its difficult to remove the xreas when swapping for the toytec
Undo the fittings and you are good to go. Adds 15-20 min to the whole process.
