Can I replace the ball joint on stock UCA?????

As the title says, I'm not really sure and have looked around to find answers but haven't found anything. The ball joints are leaking grease and need replaced. Any help appreciated

AFAIK the factory ball joints are not user replaceable as there is no OEM replacement part. Not sure if you can press out the OEM joints for non-OEM replacements though.

No. Little bit of grease leaking is normal. Aftermarket ball joints are garbage, so replace the entire UCA.

Ask around. There are probably several people on here that have their stock UCA's laying around collecting dust. Mine are currently on my friends FJC since her LR UCA's broke at the weld.

A little grease leaking is no worry... You should actually be able to press them in and out, but I don't think you you can buy the Toyota ball joints. Moog are pretty good.

Toyota claims many things are not serviceable that are.

Ok so some leakage is normal and the ball joint itself isn't serviceable. I would have to replace the whole UCA?

If the ball joints truly are bad, what could happen? Would it make a noise? I was on the trail a couple weeks back and I would go over a rough obstacle kind of fast I would hear a pretty good knock that seemed like the suspension. Could be the front end coming to full travel but not sure

If the ball joints are toast you would definitely know. Yes they would knock.

You can lift the front axle and rock the wheel and see if there is some play. Make sure it's not coming from the tie rod.

Yeah, no play in the tire when off the ground. Bushings look ok actually. Everything looks pretty solid, but I do think new UCA are in order. The stock UCA sits awful close to my bilstein coils. No sign of them get hit. Maybe the sound is just from the suspension abruptly going to full droop?

I have some UCA from my 2010 Tacoma that are in good shape. Pretty sure its the same part. You can have them for shipping if you want to stay with stock.
