Can you fit a Hard Top into the back ?

Quick question guys...

Thinking about picking up a cheap HardTop tomorrow. Will it fit in the back of my 89 4Runner if i fold the back seats down ? ( the original Hardtop will be still on of course )

Im going to say no. The simple fact is your trying to put a hard top inside of a hard top.

Maybe and this is a highly doubtful maybe, you might be able to tilt it to get it to go inside. I wouldn't suggest trying to put a hardtop inside your hardtop, especially if your roll bar is installed.

flip it upside down and strap it to the top.. an even better idea would be to show up with your top off and then put this one on....

I have spare tops because I wheel mine and have bashed out windows. Since they haven't made the tops since 1989, replacement windows (especially the rear ones) are hard to find.


As for trying to fit a top inside a top, simple use of a measuring tape would provide the obvious answer.

I was toying with the idea of making my own open Top with the spare one but having thought about it i have just gone and ordered a Softopper.
