Can you post some pictures of lifted 4runners

I just got my 4runner about one month ago and I want to lift it up. I don't know what type of lift I should buy or how much I want to raise it. I have seen a couple pictures of rides that are lifted and I want to lift mine to about the same height. I have attached two pictures about the rides I am talking about.

What companies would you recommend for the lift? Someone told me that there are two different types of lifts, a body lift, and a ___?

I do not plan to take my ride seriously off-roading but I do take my car to the mountains and I drive over some rough terrain once there. There are these hot springs up at mammoth and the road to get to them is pretty rough. That is about the only time I will need my car to be raised.

Could you guys tell me the costs and benefits of lifting the ride up. Does the ride quality go down? Do you have a greater probability of receiving tickets?

How big of tires and wheels would I need to buy in order to complete the look? How much would a lift kit cost me? Are there any websites that you can show me so that I can learn more about this inquiry.

-Old Man Emu (OME) makes some very high quality and affordable setups, depends on how much money you want to spend. Parts can be individually bought at www.toyteclifts.com or if cost is not is important check out www.sonoransteel.com. Basically this is what you will need to look like the 1st and 2nd pic..
-Front and Rear Coil Springs
-Front and Rear shocks (not required but highly recommended)
-1" Differential Drop (spacer)

you can lift for as cheap as 300 or into the thousands. for the cheapest, look into spacers, something i wouldn't recommend though. benefits are what you stated, off road ability, more agressive look, and personally i love the feel of my setup now than when i bought it stock

ride quality increases in my opinion. but i've also invested lots of money into my suspension. spacers will be cheap but will render your ride much firmer. I don't know what you mean about getting tickets, that's up to you

if you do the basic 3" lift you can retain stock wheels if you'd like and add 285/75s which usually come out to a 32.9 ht x 11.5 width, a wider version would be a 305/70. a 255/85 is a tad taller but about 10.5 wide (almost no rubbing issues). again check toyteclifts.com and sonoransteel.com for individual pricing and package price, respectively.

WELCOME! What year did you get? I wanna see some pics! Where you is?

You will find everything you wanna know if you just search it on this website. I started out with the factory 4runner and have modified, customized and still going. Anytime I have a question about my runner I just search it here and I find out more information, comments and reviews than I needed in the first place from bike hitch questions, to lifts, to tires, to bulbs, to racks, you name it, its in here!

I put some pics of my truck up. I need to take some more up to date pics, esp after todays events! My brother, dad and me put on 1 1/2'' wheel spacers today to broaden the stance. Kinda traumatic really. Had to do a lot of trimming and still need to do some more. This is because of the monster tires I just had to have. And after a 3/2 spacer lift from Jason Burtman at www.burtmanindustries.com (who I and many others on this site HIGHLY recommend for aftermarket Toyota parts). I have the 3/2 Cornfed spacer lift he sells. Best price on the web, fast shipping and excellent customer service. Then I have Cooper STT 285/75/17's - Too big really, I should have gone a single size smaller but def would stick to this make and model - KILLER TIRES! They are a real eye catcher and head turner and get compliments on them all the time.

3/2" spacer?

The Cornfed LIFT from www.burtmanindustries.com is a 3/2 spacer lift - 3" for the front and 2" for the back. Evidently it "levels" it out rather than being 3" all the way around.

Don't ask me, I just bought the damn things!

The WHEEL spacers are 1 1/2".

Does that clarify?

it wasn't me i was worried about, for someone who is new to all this stuff you may want to go the extra foot and include 3" front/2" rear instead of putting 3/2 lift. looks likes you're trying to say 3/2" spacers.

prob lifted more than that, entire suspension has been reworked and a solid axle swap has been done... this is the culmination of about 3-6k worth of work... not a 650$ or even 1500$ suspension lift

you better be 2wd if you want to lift it that high, your cv's will be destroyed with that much lift, 2.5-3 is the max with out hurting your cv angles

shit when my truck was 2wd i couldnt even get 4 inchs in the front without screwing up my balljoints or hurting my camber angle.

Dude, don't get a body lift...such a waste of money!!
I know youre not going to be doing lots of off-roading, but lifting you're body away from the frame doesn't help you out much, except being able to put bigger tires. Do you have an auto or stick shift? You will have to extend your shifter, and your steering column, and you will have space between your bumpers and the body, cuz they are bolted on your frame, not the body. You will also have a nice view of your frame now that your body has been lifter awy from it.
Do a two inch suspension lift, and you will be a happy camper!! 2'' will give you the lift you need with out messing up the ride of the vehicle.
Check out the Rancho Quick Lift and the Old Man Emo lift, they are pretty decent from what I have heard, and not too pricey. You can even do it yourself if you wanna save some money.

Stress on the body mounts is another negative. And if you're going to be doing any off-roading, you want more clearance coming from your frame, not your body.

Doing a body lift is like putting Super Charged emblem on your car when all you got is a muffler tip that just makes it sound like its super charged. But thats just my opinion.
