canister front driverside fender well

what is the black pint sized canister in the front of the driver side fender well on the core support for?

can it be removed? it looks like a vacuum canister of some sort but I don't know what it would be for down there.

ill try to remember to post a picture when I get a chance too.

Automatic Disconnecting Differential. It should not be permanently removed if you want 4wd to work. Why do you need to remove it?

I am going to most likely be putting an engine cage / full cage my 4Runner and want to ditch the core supper and front clip fender well things and was just curious.

Sounds like I need to relocate it. It’s just in a
Weird spot when it comes to wanting to do a few things and eventually step up to 35” tires.

You can relocate it just fine. Also, a smaller vacuum canister can probably be used.

I assume I can remove this and the other vacuum lines that went to the diff and just cap off when doing my SAS?

Assuming you are going to manual hubs, yes. The VSVs on the fender well are worth decent $$$... Depending on year, the point where you cap it is different, but you should be able to track them all down.

Yes new axle has manual hubs.
