On an unrelated note, there is a contest at my supermarket where the grand prize is a 2010 Ford Escape hybrid. I don't know what I'd do if I won it. I would not drive that over my 2001 Runner.

It would make a good traveler to keep gas cheap and the Runner doing well. But, I think I'd have to sell it and use $20,000 to invest and $10,000 to invest in my Runner.

Right at the top of the magazine should give you insight, "CAR" and driver. Anything that drives like a car will probably win. BTW, I don't like how most cars drive. And like it has been said long ago, that mag really lost their street cred a while back.

I just hope toyota doesn't listen to them or jeep and decide to go uni-body or IRS on us.

But they do have people on staff who can drive

You can criticize those writer but it's not like you guys could write an unbiased review either reading some of these posts.
It's ok we are enthusiasts and everybody has their favs and we know our 4Runners better than other owners would ever care to and no magazine articel is going to sway us away for the most part and those mags aren't really written for the enthusiast.

I think the 4Runner won where it's intended to be better and still be competent on the street. I really have no issues with the article.
