car dies. new starter/altenator/good batt

I installed a new starter and my car started fine. the next morning it was dead. I jumped it and got it to the end of the road and it completely shut off. jump drive it for down the road again and dies again and again...

-New Starter
-new altenator (3 months earlier)
-Batt tested and it is "good"


I do here a noise in the relay box even when the key is off, like some kind of current zapping noise running through it still.

You have a bad alternator, or a bad connection between the alternator and the battery. When the car is running the alternator is supplying all the power, and the battery is basically irrelevant. Even if there's something draining the battery while it's parked, once it's started the alternator would keep it running if it's working properly.

Is the battery light on while all this is going on?

The car shuts off when I turn head lamps on
Or turn blower fan on inside for air
Sometimes stays on

All I did was change the starter.. Idk if it is possible to tweak a ground from that spot I didn't see anything I could of touched..

How did you "test" the alternator? What is the voltage at idle, and what happens to the voltage when you turn on the head lamps?

According to you everything is good, but the car doesn't work, so actually something is bad. Check the battery voltage with the car off, then start the vehicle and re check the voltage, post results.

I'll have to do it tomorrow.
I had the battery tested at pep boys it printed a ticket out saying it was good.
When I tested the new altenator with car on it was 14.5

I started my car also and left it on for about 12 min no problem it stays running.
I take the positive battery terminal off and stays running.
Anything that jolts for more power .. Lights/air or whatever it shuts off and wipes the battery out clean.. I'll have to test the batt again tomorrow but they
said it was good.

Grounds maybe? Idk it's weird.
I think I'll use someone else's battery and see what happened tomorrow.

What is the make of your alternator?
I guess under a load the alternator is not producing any current. How did you check the voltage?
Check it while the head lights on, AC on, Rear heater on and wipers on. You should have 13 V at iidle

A short, which in the automotive electrical world means power shorted to ground, large enough to "wipe it clean" would start your truck on fire. But anything drawing that much would blow a fuse, unless it was the main battery cable to the starter, but that would start your truck on fire.

I can help you, or someone else here can, but you have to give us more info.

Tis true... a fully charged good battery has incredible amounts of power stored. Enough to cook any wire that is shorted to ground. If the battery was shorted internally, it would never take a charge.

I'll go out on a limb and suggest you remove the heavy starter cable from the starter and fine emery cloth the end eye hole shiny again and then re-install and tighten up.
Of course disconnect the positive post on your battery first.
