car seat anchors?

I've gone through my 3rd gen like 20 times looking for rear facing car seat anchors. in my optima hey are in between the seat chusion thats under ur but and behind u. its there by the seat belt buckle. on my 4R i can't find it. any know of any others or has any one installed them themselves? my kids car seat slides ALL OVER when i just use the seat belt through the base.

No 3rd gens have them. You have to use the seat belt to install them. They shouldn't be sliding around. You pull the seat belt out all the way and when it retracts it will ratchet back in place, if that makes sense. And then just pull it tight.

Tighten it up.

I've got a 3yo, and an 8mo old, and don't have any problems with them in the truck.

But there are no anchors in 3rd gens.

And they can't be retrofitted or should be done yourself. I wouldn't risk my child's safety with trying to fabricate something up yourself. The top anchor can be retrofitted but not the lower anchors by the buckles.

Just reinforcing the two responses above. No anchors. Are you using a base or just the car seat without base? I installed my car seat base (1st kid due in a week) two days ago and had no issues. Remember to stick your knee in the center of the base or seat when you tighten it down.

I've done that all the way out tighten up thing, and still. for my 9 month old i end up driving with my hand in the back holding the seat from going all over the place

Have you let all the belt out to lock it? Mine is front facing and hold just fine.

yeah its all the way out and locked, my front facing one gives my no issue at all its the other one thats the issue. maybe ill try to get some anchors in there to utilize

You have to put your body weight onto the car seat and pull the seat belt as tight as you can after pulling it all the way out.

In California the state troopers will install car seats and show how to do it for your vehicle. Maybe Iowa is similar. My kids seat is nice and tight, but I get my wife to help me get the seat in tight.

Drive your knee into the base while you tighten the belt/base down using full body weight and if leather seats use those grippy mats to protect them from the bases.

I have a six month old. A friend gave me one of these:

It ratchets down the seat belt to make it tighter. The child seat base in my 99 is tighter than in my 2013 wrx with anchors.

Go to a local fire house and have them install it. They should be trained and would be more than happy to take care of it. You definitely shouldn't be driving around like you are.
