Cargo area d-ring strength?

I guess using a truck bed or trailer have their share of problems too.

Sometimes you have to makde do with what you have.

Yeah, now you know what i think about whenever i look... at anything everywhere. I have hauled 400 lb rocks in the back of the 4Runner even though i know that in a wreck that baby won't stop until it hit the engine block. Calculated risk. Same as bombing down a hill on a mountain bike. It's all probability and risk assessment.

I know this is a few months later, but I'm currently trying to figure this out. I load my 2016 TE with a big dog kennel on the left. On the right, I have a big box full of camping gear and, stacked on top of that, an ice cooler and drybox for food. The cooler and drybox are stacked such that the majority of their height sits above the top of the 2nd row seats (maybe only ~2 inches sits below). I'm worried about the cooler coming into the passenger area and killing my kids if we're ever in an accident while camping.

I've bought a net from Raingler that I'll drape over the cargo and attached at the front and back anchors. That should hold all the cargo together so long as the d-rings hold.

Any recommendations for upgrading the d-rings so they'll keep the cargo from killing my family if we're in an accident with camping equipment in the car?
